Who’s Next Halls 5 & 6
Porte de Versailles
Paris
Report from Ulrike Simon from the company ‘bedacht’
Who’s Next was definitely scaled down this season, occupying only Halls 5 and 6, two of the smaller halls, nevertheless there was a comprehensive presentation from every accessory sector. The atmosphere was upbeat with a second-hand market and a bumper car ride in the open air between the halls. They had also arranged a party on the roof of Hall 6 for Sunday evening.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
The fair was well attended from the first day with more customers than we’d expected, the majority arriving from France, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Germany. Missing were those from Asia and overseas.
But we were hopeful because it felt so good to be at a fair again and to meet our dear customers bringing a little bit of normality after all this time.
The hat companies were together in one area of Hall 5, so easy to locate, and the number of them sufficient for buyers. We had a lot of interest in our collection and found some new customers, as everyone is hopeful that 2022 will be a far better year.
Our Collection for Spring/Summer 2022
Our main focus was on; beautiful, chic travel hats; sunhats and caps for the beach; and headwear to accessorize an outfit either for day or night. For next year a hat also needs to be crushable and casual.
For materials we used a lot of hemp, and also combined hemp with other materials giving a new texture and a new twist on more classic shapes.
Soft hats and caps in linen and water-repellent fabrics were popular. And the most popular colours were orange, magenta, purple, green, taupe and apricot.
There were only a few dressy items in the collection, as our customers still have sufficient stock after the cancellation of so many events due to the pandemic.
We hope that the economic situation will improve soon and that the big shops will be able to open again. It is still very difficult for all of us and we are working hard, but we remain confident.
