Premiere Classe, PARIS
29th September – 2nd October 2023
Jardin des Tuileries, 75001 Paris
Paris, at this time, is always an exciting city for the global fashion business. At least those buying and reporting on accessories are confined to two or three venues, Première Classe, Tranoï and WOMAN/MAN, which makes life slightly easier.
From the three venues Première Classe offers the largest selection of headwear to an international audience. Tranoï has enlarged their accessory offer each season, since Boris Provost (formally of Première Classe) became CEO of this show, and this edition turned one of the upper rooms into an accessory only selection. Here I found one top headwear brand, Reinhard Plank who always delivers a lively performance and brings to the table something new!
PREMIERE CLASSE
New and returning faces are always a joy to see here. New was the Japanese brand CA4LA that had, before Covid, always shown at Tranoï. Their stand was full to overflowing.
It must always be difficult to select from their huge number of styles they produce each season, a niche collection to show to international buyers in Paris. However, there were I thought maybe too much going on.
PREMIERE CLASSE
Returning to Paris for the first time since Covid was Lola Hats from New York, with a full stand of highly wearable summer straws. It was good to see Lola on the stand welcoming buyers especially from Japan and South Korea, where they retain an incredibly large market.
